Forest City Realty Trust is 2017 Keystone Award Winner

On Thursday, April 13, 2017, the Board of Regents of the American Architectural Foundation (AAF) presented the 2017 Keystone Award to Forest City Realty Trust at the 28th annual Accent on Architecture Gala in Washington, D.C.

The Keystone Award is presented annually to an individual or organization whose portfolio increases the value of the built environment. Awardees’ body of work reflects AAF’s vision of a society in which architecture and design enriches lives and transforms communities. Forest City Realty Trust has consistently demonstrated leadership that champions this vision.

Founded in 1920 and headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Forest City Realty Trust is an owner, developer, and manager of a national portfolio of premier retail, office, apartment, and mixed-use properties in core markets across the United States. They operate by developing meaningful relationships and leveraging their entrepreneurial capabilities with creative and talented associates who embrace their core values.

AAF President and CEO Ron Bogle, Hon. AIA, added, “Forest City Realty Trust joins the very prestigious company of other Keystone Awardees including Robert P. Kogod, the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, the Chicago Architecture Foundation, the Pritzker Family of Chicago, the United States Green Building Council, and Save America’s Treasures. With the 2017 Keystone Award, we are pleased to celebrate Forest City’s leadership in creating robust design partnerships and sustainable communities.”

The Accent on Architecture Gala, held at the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, is an unparalleled national event that recognizes and celebrates excellence in architecture and design. Each year, the Gala brings together more than 500 national and global leaders in design, government, business, and education to honor outstanding colleagues in the field, such as Forest City Realty Trust.

Proceeds from the Accent on Architecture Gala directly support the work of the American Architectural Foundation and its three international design centers, which provide design leadership and sustainability programs to leaders in architecture, design, education, public policy, urban planning, and historic preservation.
