Indeed this was the hardest time in my journey with diabetes. From the time I was 18 until 25 I had gone through multiple bouts of Diabetic Ketoacidosis, 2 leading to comas, the first led to pregnancy loss. The second after a very complicated pregnancy which I spent several months hospitalized fighting for my baby's life and my own. Both situations could have been prevented if we had more knowledge and resources about Type 1 and young adulthood. lace decorated items with sleeves to wear of the wedding
Perhaps because more of us are reaching adulthood there is more information available that just wasn't there. I am so glad that there are more resources for Type 1 young adults than there had been but it is still a very difficult transition for parents and adult children..
