Following up with Northwest One interviews with alumni of the Sustainable Cities Design Academy.

Overview: The Northwest One Redevelopment Plan is dedicated to replacing vacant lots and substandard housing with a mixed-use and mixed-income sustainable community in Washington, D.C. Northwest One is one of four designated “New Communities” in the District. The New Communities Initiative, launched in 2005, is a comprehensive public‐private partnership designed to improve the quality of life for families and residents of the District. Members of the leadership team for the project attended the Sustainable Cities Design Academy in New Orleans, April 6-8, 2011.
